tell you the truth: this time my lack of sleep has a center, because it gave me the opportunity to know an episode of our history of which, I admit, I knew very little! The movie was beautiful .... hard ... raw ... realistic ... sad ... very well acted and directed better, no easy sentimentality and free tri ... told from the perspective of the soldiers ... their fears ... their dreams ... their hopes .... a film about war .... a film AGAINST the war!! A film about an Army left alone during the Africa campaign launched by Mussolini ... an army in disarray, without food, water - the soldiers were washing their uniforms in the sand! - With little ammunition and above all, without absolutely no leadership, not only to soldiers who said they had to do, but how the conflict was going in the rest of the territory! one of the scenes that struck me most was that the horse! let me explain better : 2 trucks used for supplies to be found by accident in the trench where he plays the film's plot, transport and the horse shoe polish that Mussolini had to ride in Alexandria, when you would enter in triumph! in practice the highest levels of our army was preparing for the final parade! the lieutenant of the division, played by a talented Emilio Solfrizzi (to Toti & Tata, remember?), decides to let the shoe polish and seize the horse, to kill him and feed his men, so points the gun in the face, the look, the horse looks at him and says the driver of one truck "take back the horse and go!" ... then puts the gun in the scabbard and went
