Gargano Gargano is an imposing promontory in the province of Foggia is basically a mountain range called the "spur of Italy" that stretches for 70 km in the Adriatic Sea, and that gives rise to the Gulf Manfredonia. To the east, goes so far as the so-called head of the Gargano, to the west is joined with the Tavoliere, covering a total area of \u200b\u200babout 2000 km ². Its territory falls National Park of Gargano.
Gargano, the only mountain entirely in Puglia, was originally an island, then to the mainland by a progressive accumulation of alluvial deposits, especially Candelaro the river, the northern coastal strip, low and sandy, home to the lake with the adjacent coastal Varano Lake Hvar. The massive, composed mainly of limestone, culminating in the 1056 m of Mount Calvo (significant is the name of this mountain, the bare and rocky slopes), has a flashy karst, whose most interesting features are the numerous caves, inhabited since prehistoric times.

"Almost a year and a half ago, exactly 24 July 2007, the Gargano Promontory was set on fire by unknown kids ... the other days of the mass-media have informed us that the proceedings were terminated for lack of evidence ... ."!!!
What do you say?? Writing in Wikipedia to add this missing piece??
